Education
As the father of children in Anne Arundel County Public Schools, Sid believes that we need a multifaceted approach: teacher-parent-student involvement. Teachers need autonomy to do their job effectively with parents' support and students need educational options. We should expand charter schools to provide more educational opportunities. Career technical education must be made available so students leave with skills they can immediately use in the workforce. Sid strongly supports school choice and giving parents more of a voice in our local schools. Sid has advocated for a pilot program in AACPS that would have involved multiple agencies and the school system to be able to help identify troubled youth and get them the right help at the right time.

An Elected Board of Education
Anne Arundel County Public Schools
Sid helped lead the effort to changing the governance structure of Anne Arundel County's Board of Education from Appointed to Elected. Board members perform quasi-governmental roles and are accountable to the parents and children of Anne Arundel County.

Some examples of legislation Sid has supported on this issue include:
HB716 Anne Arundel County - Board of Education 2018
HB277 Public Schools - Purple Star Schools Program - Establishment
HB985 Public High Schools - Financial Literacy Curriculum
